How would you change Jolicloud's Jolibook?

Jolicloud's Jolibook may not be the hottest selling netbook in the universe (or maybe it is, and we just don't know it), but regardless, it's certainly quite the eye-catcher. For those who diverted from the paths more beaten and picked one up, we're keenly interested in finding out how things are going for you. Are you content with the overall design? Would you have changed anything about the operating system? What about that bulging battery? Would you have rather it ran Windows after extended use? Tell all in comments below, and remember -- no matter how sour you get, you'll always have one bodacious looking lid.

Google to launch unlimited video streaming service in the U.K. first

Google, no doubt more than a little leery of Netflix's entrenchment in the U.S., is planning to launch an unlimited on-demand movie streaming service through YouTube in the U.K.

The Big G has been talking with Hollywood studios for months, and has set aside $100 million to secure some big deals. According to one Hollywood executive, Google will launch both video-on-demand and 'channels,' which could even pit it against conventional European TV providers like Sky.

By launching in the U.K. first, Google will still have to beat LoveFilm, which was recently bought by Amazon. Presumably Google will attempt to create a beachhead, which it will then use to try and tackle Netflix in the U.S., and a variety of on-demand services in Europe.

The best Windows Twitter clients: from TweetDeck to tweetc

With more than 190 million users, and less than half of those using Twitter.com to post updates, the installed Twitter client market is massive. There are literally hundreds of Twitter clients spanning every desktop and mobile platform, and even a few cross-platform Web apps thrown into the mix.

Even if you narrow down the search to just one platform -- Windows -- there's still a dizzying amount of choices to pick from. There isn't even an official Twitter for Windows that scared newbies can pick up.

Well, good news: We've whittled down the choices so that you only have to choose from the best of the rest. From the typographically beautiful and slimline MetroTwit, to the heavy-hitting tour de force of Seesmic, and a handful in between, we have a Twitter client for you.

Air Force Tight-Lipped About Unmanned 'Mini Shuttle' Mission

A U.S. Air Force space vehicle called the "X-37B" that caused "conniptions among Chinese space bloggers" during its first mission last year, according to Heritage Foundation Chinese political and security affairs research fellow Dean Cheng, is being prepared for its second mission launch on Friday. What that mission will entail, however, remains a mystery, in keeping with the space plane's James Bond image.

PSP Go price cut quietly slinks away, now priced at original $200 MSRP

When Sony hacked $50 from the PSP Go's price earlier this week, it didn't exactly trumpet the news, and now it's looking like a permanent $150 MSRP for the UMD-less handheld was too good to be true. Text across Sony's website has silently been changed to reflect a $199.99 price point for both colors of the sliding-screen system, and there seems to be no remaining evidence that Sony ever dropped the price at all. Still, we imagine it's only a matter of time before such a price cut becomes officially official, as the PSP-3000's the no-brainer choice if you're buying a PSP right now -- it's a full $70 cheaper than the less-capable Go.

[Thanks, Phil F.]

Google releases Android anti-fragmentation kit

android fragmented fragmentationAndroid fragmentation is once again being talked about (was it ever not?), only this time it's because Google has released a new compatibility pack which helps developers combat fragmentation-related issues.

The new static library allows access to the Honeycomb Fragments API -- which lets developers produce resolution independent apps -- on any device running Android 1.6 or better, from diminutive paygo phones to 10.1" tablets.

Interested developers can grab Android Compatibility Pack via the SDK Updater.
